Impactful gift packaging can leave a lasting impression for your brand and customers alike. La Fournette—a Chicago patisserie that was founded by World Baking Champion Pierre Zimmerman—serves customers around the US viaGoldbelly. La Fournette’s macarons embody the perfect balance of French artistry and Chicago craftsmanship. To celebrate this transatlantic connection, Seedhouse designed an exquisite gift box inspired by the timeless work of Frank Lloyd Wright, widely regarded as the greatest American architect.

The packaging pays homage to Wright’s iconic Prairie Style stained-glass designs, with a delicate copper-foil border highlighting the rich array of colorsRounded box edges enhance the tactile experience, reinforcing the luxurious nature of the gift while the sumptuous toothy paper adds to the “earthiness" and “organic-ness” that is so central to Prairie Style. Layering paper, finishes, and color, all adds to the depth and texture and gives the box a sense that you shouldsave it as a keepsake.

Collaborating with Papertube on the production and printing, we were able to dial in finishes and paper choices throughout the process. From the start, they provided guidance on how the production could complement our design and provided a wealth of physical samples so we could see exactly how different finishes worked on specific types of paper. Additionally, we created a prototype so we were able to experience the box in hand and make adjustments before the final production run. Fine-tuning the edges, foil usage, and colors, the final product is exactly what we set out to create.

Inside, a thoughtfully curated selection of seasonal flavors, each as refined as the presentation itself. And the opportunity to craft packaging for World Baking Champion Pierre Zimmermann? A true honor—one we’ll always cherish.
Timeless design. Exquisite craftsmanship. A masterpiece, inside and out.
